The Cranberry Baseball League established its Hall of Fame in 1995, in its 35th year of existence. New members will be added periodically as we strive to recognize those who excelled at their avocation, baseball.

All Hall of Fame inductees are memorialized on a perennial plaque, which is permanently displayed along with the league championship trophy at the South Shore Baseball Club in Hingham.

To be elected to the Hall of Fame, a number of criteria must be met. A player must exhibit considerable baseball skills, excel at his position, be retired for two years, and continue to reflect positively on the league. A manager, general manager, or officer requires a long term of leadership and dedication to the league. Umpires must be knowledgeable, fair, and consistent and have conducted themselves with great integrity.

The selection process is not an easy one. After countless rounds of balloting, Connie Spillane commented: "They don't take this long to get white smoke out of the Vatican."
