Hall Of Fame
The Cranberry Baseball League established its Hall of Fame in 1995- in its 35th year of existence. New members will be added each year- as we strive to recognize those who excelled at their avocation- BASEBALL.
Hall of Fame Inductions were held in 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2001, 2003 & 2004.
Hall of Famer's names are memorialized on the Hall of Fame Perennial Plaque along with the previous years selections. The Hall of Fame Perennial Plaque is permanently displayed along with the League Championship Trophy at the South Shore Baseball Club in Hingham.
There are hundreds more players, managers, general managers and umpires who have contributed to the success of the League over the years. We expect to see many of these guys selected for membership in future years as we embark on a tradition.
To be elected to the Hall of Fame, a number of criteria must be met. A player must exhibit considerable baseball skills and excel at his position, be retired for two years and continue to reflect positively on the League. A manager, general manager or office requires a long term of leadership and dedication to the League. Umpires must be knowledgeable, fair, and consistent and have conducted themselves with great integrity.
The selection process is not an easy one. After countless rounds of balloting, Connie Spillane commented: "They don't take this long to get white smoke out of the Vatican."
